In the patients examined in this study, the usual association of a digital vascular malformation (hemangioma, arteriovenous malformation or lymphovenous malformation), leads to the formation of a neurocutaneous vascular malformation, with a rapid extension, affecting not only the entire hand, but also the whole lower limb. The vascular malformation is bilateral in most cases. The difficulty in diagnosis of these cases is obvious, especially in view of the fact that vascular malformations are detected incidentally by dynamic exploration of the vascular system. The authors underline the problems of pain and functional incapacity associated with these malformations.
